چکیده

Link capacity is defined as the number of channels available in a link. In direct-sequence code-division multipleaccess (DS-CDMA) cellular systems, this is limited by the interference present in the link. The interference is affected by many environmental factors, and, thus, the link capacity of the systems varies with the environment. Due to the varying link capacity, static channel assignment (SCA) based on fixed link capacity is not fully using the link capacity. This paper proposes a more efficient channel assignment based on the interference received at the base station (BS). In the proposed algorithm, a channel is assigned if the corresponding interference margin is less than the allowed interference, and, thus, channels are assigned adaptively to dynamically varying link capacity. Using the proposed algorithm yields more channels than using SCA in such an environment changes with nonhomogeneous traffic load or varying radio path loss. The algorithm also improves service grade by reserving channels for handoff calls.

Joint Closed-Loop Power Control and Base Station Assignment for DS-CDMA Receiver in Multipath Fading Channel with Adaptive Beamforming Method

In this paper, we propose smart step closed-loop power control (SSPC) algorithm and base station assignment based on minimizing the transmitter power (BSAMTP) technique in a direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) receiver in the presence of frequency-selective Rayleigh fading. This receiver consists of three stages. In the first stage, with conjugate gradient (CG) adaptive ...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

A DS-CDMA Cellular System Using Band Division and Channel Segregation Distributed Channel Allocation

In DS-CDMA cellular communications systems, the single frequency reuse can be utilized. Since large other-cell interference is produced, the well known soft handover or site diversity must be used. If the single frequency reuse is not utilized to avoid the other-cell interference, we will face the frequency allocation problem, similar to FDMA systems. In this paper, a DS-CDMA cellular system us...

Frequency Reuse Efficiency of A DS-CDMA Cellular System Using Band Division and Channel Segregation

Abstract In DS-CDMA cellular communications systems, the single frequency reuse is utilized and hence large co-channel interference is received from other cells. If the single frequency reuse is not utilized to reduce the other-cell interference, we will face the frequency allocation problem, similar to FDMA systems. In this paper, we divide the available wide frequency band into several narrow...

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...
